We live in a world obsessed with ‘acquiring’, and ‘possessing’, as if the success of life were defined by how much we can ‘own’ during our lifetime.
Unfortunately, we also include in this thinking the idea of ‘finding the one’ - that wonderful person who can complement us and provide the happiness we so crave.
This mindset condemns us to an unhappy life. No one and nothing outside of us can or should be responsible for our happiness.
When we look outside of ourselves for what we believe will resolve our problems and make us whole, we put our emotional energies in the wrong place. Then we are condemned to failure.
It is only by looking deeply inside ourselves, and always working on ourselves, that we find the journey to love. When we become the one we seek, the 'One' we have always been, unselfish, compassionate and kind, we awaken from the illusions that have caused us such suffering. Then we attract what we have become.
