We spend a lot of our time seeking ‘certainty’ in life. The world is ephemeral and constantly changing. So certainty cannot exist and is a cause of great stress. Witness the concerns around Covid19. Nothing is certain. The only way to address this is to embrace uncertainty, realise that we cannot control our external world and focus on our internal thoughts, which, with practice, we can control. From this place of serenity, we can then take sensible, calm, collected, compassionate, kind actions. To grasp and cling to certainty is ridiculous …
