We sometimes feel we are locked in a prison from which we cannot escape. When the world seems bleak and hopeless and we feel helpless in the face of adversity, it is easy to become despondent and depressed.
There is, though, always a light shining: even into the deepest darkest cavern.
In the words of Viktor Frankl who survived the horrors of the concentration camps: ‘Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way’. That is courage. That is hope. That is peace …
