We are living in turbulent times. Covid19 has accentuated our anxiety. We are trying desperately to regain stability, have something solid to cling to, control our environment, make things more permanent and predictable. That is like trying to walk on water. It simply adds to the frustration and stress.
The world is like water. Constantly in motion and unsettled. The tighter we try to hold water, the faster it escapes from our grasp.
The best way not to drown is to learn to swim. This means ‘letting go’ of our fear and tension and floating with the current. It means accepting that life is impermanent. It means not seeking to control everything. It means working with and not against nature.
When we do this, we become wiser. We take more considered and compassionate decisions. We become more helpful. We find our own peace..
