The world is constantly changing and evolving. Nothing stays the same.

To try to stop the clock, hold up the river, push back the clouds is an exercise in utter futility.

It can’t be done.

And yet we try to ‘control’ everything all the time, causing ourselves infinite stress and suffering. It has always been the case. Lao Tzu recognised this over 2500 years ago.
The way to manage ‘uncertainty’ is to be highly flexible and not rigid, to accept that life is an adventure and its very unpredictability part of its excitement.

This view may not be seen that helpful in these current difficult times. But it’s the best way to face the future with courage, creativity, compassion and a positive outlook.
The alternative is to drown in misery, stressed and anxious, complaining and blaming and just waiting for the next negative news…

Accepting that life is ‘impermanent’ and not ‘holding on’ to defunct ideas and plans is the best way to discover new opportunities and landscapes…
