It is sometimes easier to explain a philosophical idea by means of a dialogue.

In a mother’s womb were two babies.

Baby 1: ‘You don’t believe in life after delivery do you?’

Baby 2: ‘Why I think there could be! There has to be something after delivery, doesn’t there?

Baby 1: ‘Nonsense. How can there be life after delivery? We’re here purely by chance and when we finish being here that’s the end!’

Baby 2: ‘I don’t know. What if, after delivery, there was Light? What if we could walk, talk, eat and drink? What if we had other senses that we can’t imagine right now? What if we were part of something much bigger?

Baby 1: ‘You’re being ridiculous. Walking is impossible. This umbilical cord is too short for that. And it supplies everything we need anyway. How could we survive without it?

Baby 2: ‘That’s true. But I still think there’s something out there that’s maybe different from what’s here. Maybe we won’t need this physical cord anymore. Maybe there’s another world full of possibilities where we could be free. How do we know we’re not already connected to a giant ecosystem where everything is related to everything else and we just can’t see it?

Baby 1: ‘What utter nonsense. If you’re right and there is life after delivery, how come no one has ever come back from there? Delivery is the end of life, and in the after-delivery, there is nothing but darkness and oblivion. That’s so obvious!’

Baby 2: ‘Well, I don’t know. I’ve got a very strong feeling that we will come to understand that there’s a sort of Universal Intelligence, an infinite source of power we could call ‘Mother’ of which we are a part.

Baby 1: ‘Mother? Universal Intelligence? You actually believe in that stuff? If ‘Mother’ exists then where is She now?’

Baby 2: ‘She is all around us. We are surrounded by her. We are in Her and of Her. Our world exists because of her and she exists because of us. She loves us and we depend on her gentle care. And we will come to love her too.

Baby 1: ‘Well I can’t see Her. And if I can’t see her, She can’t possibly exist.’

Baby 2: ‘When we’re silent and we listen carefully, we can sense Her Divine Presence. We can hear Her loving voice. We can feel her warm embrace. We are connected in Truth and Infinite, Eternal and Absolute Love.’
