‘I’d love to go back to a time when my only concern was to decide how I should colour my drawing.’
These simple, child-like words are the essence of wisdom.
We have a terrible tendency to grossly overcomplicate life. We worry about the past and the future. We grasp frantically for more and more ‘things’. We try desperately to control an environment that is constantly changing. And we take ourselves far too seriously!
This frenetic chasing after illusions is like running after a mirage that always stays tantalisingly out of reach.
Keep it simple, stupid!
Enjoy the beauty of nature. Marvel at the song of the birds. Admire the colours of the flowers. Bathe in the warmth of the sun. Listen to the laughter of children. Savour time spent with family and friends. Enjoy Life.
These are the miracles of Existence. They are all free. Take quiet time to observe them. They are all around…but we have to get out of our own way first…
