How many more ‘wake up’ calls are needed before we start to change the way we think and act?

COVID 19 has woken us up to our interrelatedness, our greed and stupidity in wanting to buy the animal parts of endangered creatures, where destruction of animal habitats leads to closer proximity of animals to humans and the increased risk of viruses jumping from one species to another.

Rising CO2 levels and climate change have shown the devastating impact, in terms of fires, flooding and rising sea levels, of mindless deforestation, excessive carbon usage, massive scale industrialised farming and so on.

Inequality, exclusion, racial tension, cybercrime, nuclear proliferation, nationalism and so many other lethal problems are not ‘natural’ disaster risks, but all MAN MADE with potentially catastrophic consequences.

We cannot survive long with Bronze Age thinking and post-modern technology and weaponry.

Time to wake up. Time to raise our level of consciousness. Time to work with nature and not against it.

It makes no sense that a dead tree is worth more than a live one; or a dead whale more than a live one …
