Don’t put the key to your happiness in someone else’s pocket.

It is very easy to hand our power … and our happiness … to someone else, especially to people who, through their selfishness and narcissism, manipulate and control with impunity to feed their ego. They often play a seductive game … a game we cannot win!
The kind, gentle, loving, ‘attached’ are particularly vulnerable.
In their desire to please or in the mistaken belief that they can reform or convert, they are trapped in a prison, its key in the hands of another.
Be aware: if you are being mistreated, it is abuse and unacceptable. Don’t allow it and step away!
If you continue to allow it to happen, that is complicity and a lack of self-respect. It is a recipe for suffering and unhappiness.
Stay strong! Stay true to your values! Stay aligned to your higher calling! Have respect for yourself. That is what ‘loving yourself’ means.
So don’t put the key to your happiness in someone else’s pocket …
